Aldebaran marks one side of the Winter Hexagon, an asterism that appears in the southern sky during the winter. Unlike the other stars in the shape, Aldebaran burns red, adding it’s own pop of color to the collection of fiery stars, just like the string wedge in this hexagon quilt

In this pattern: Quilt top assembly directions using straight seams or optional y-seams, sample layouts for each size, coloring page, quilting inspiration, and other helpful resources

In addition to the yardage requirements outlined to the left (in the product images) you will need:

1) miscellaneous strips/strings/selvedges for the string wedges (see note about fat quarters below)

2) the “tri” ruler of a tri-recs set (makes a 6 in finished equilateral triangle)

3) paper for string piecing (you can use regular printer paper, though I prefer something thinner like unwaxed sandwich papers or parchment paper if available)

4) Spray starch (technically optional, but as these triangles have a lot of bias edges, I used starch generously with my assembly)
